240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

China's 240-hour (10-day) visa-free transit policy allows citizens from 55 eligible countries to visit designated regions of China for up to 10 days without a pre-arranged visa, provided they hold a valid passport and a confirmed onward ticket to a third country or region.

Key Requirements
  • Eligible Nationalities: Citizens from 55 countries (including the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and 25 Schengen-area European nations).
  • The Third-Country/Region Rule: Your journey itinerary must follow Country/Region A → China → Country/Region C (a third country or region). Round-trip tickets starting and ending in the same country or region do not qualify.
  • Duration: Up to 240 hours, calculated starting from 00:00 on the day following arrival.
  • Ports of Entry: Available across 65 open ports in 24 provinces (including major hubs such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, as well as Xiamen, where RSC FIRST 2026 will be held).
  • Permitted Movement: Cross-provincial travel within the designated authorised regions of the 24 participating provinces.
